About
History
FGJMSA is a Municipal Authority formed under the Municipal Authorities act of 1945.
The municipalities of Fairchance Borough and Georges Township are the two contributing Municipalities with 3 members of the board from Fairchance Borough and 4 from Georges Township.
Treatment Process
The plant we operate is a Sequencing batch reactors SBR or sequential batch reactors which are industrial processing tanks for the treatment of wastewater. SBR reactors treat wastewater such as sewage in batches. Oxygen is bubbled through the wastewater to reduce biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) which makes the effluent suitable for discharge to surface waters.
Before the wastewater discharges to the receiving waters it goes from the SBR decanter down a closed piped system and through UV Disinfection before being discharged into the receiving waters.
